Venue and Seating Information
Madison Square Garden is a multi-level indoor arena above Penn Station, with a circular seating bowl designed to give fans a broad view of the action. For basketball, the arena's Floor, 100 Level, 200 Level, and 300 Level offer different perspectives and price points.
For a close view of the game, center sideline seats in the 100 Level are a strong choice, combining proximity with clear court sightlines. The 200 Level provides an elevated view that can make it easier to follow plays as they develop, while the 300 Level offers a more budget-conscious overview from higher up.
Parking Information
Parking around Madison Square Garden is limited, and event-night prices can rise with demand. Public transportation is a practical alternative: the arena sits directly above Penn Station, with train and subway access nearby.
- Nearby commercial garages: Garages around Penn Station and 8th Avenue are generally a 1–5 minute walk away. Event parking is approximately $30–$80, with higher prices possible on busy nights.
- Garages toward Herald Square or Chelsea: Options roughly 10–15 minutes away on foot may cost around $20–$50, depending on demand.
- Street parking: Limited and subject to strict restrictions; metered spaces are not a reliable event-night plan.
Avoid leaving parking until arrival during a major event, when nearby garages may be full or charge more. Rideshare pickups near 7th Avenue and 33rd Street or West 31st Street can also face delays after the game.
